Teaching Personnel are currently working as a recruitment partner for a Secondary School based in Altrincham, South Manchester, to source a number of Teaching Assistants to work within the schools alternative provision unit – support students across KS3 and KS4 in a 1:1 capacity. The role is a full-time, fixed-term term 12 month position (working hours; 08:30 – 15:00) starting in September 2024.

The school is very well funded and ensures that each student that requires additional support has this in place. It is an Ofsted Good 11-18 Secondary School that is situated close to public transport links in the affluent catchment area of Altrincham. This would be a great opportunity for any recent University graduate who is looking to gain experience within education (potentially as a steppingstone to go on to complete a PGCE and gain QTS in the future).

Responsibilities

  • Support students in a 1:1 capacity in lessons
  • Liaise with class teachers to implement development plans for selected students
  • Report feedback on student progress back to class teachers
  • Forge strong working relationships with both staff and students

Requirements

  • Undergraduate Degree in relevant or related field (essential)
  • Full-time available and live within commuting distance to Altrincham
  • Able to build strong working relationships
  • Strong Literacy and Numeracy skills
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (Desirable but not essential)

Pay

  • £85 - £95 per day based on a 6.5 hour working day
