Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant – Levenshulme

Teaching Personnel is seeking a passionate Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Levenshulme. This full-time role begins in October and continues until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent position based on performance. The role offers competitive weekly pay of £419.25 - £500.

Role Overview:

As a Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will support the Humanities department, contributing to the delivery of History, Geography, and Religious Studies lessons. This role is ideal for recent graduates considering a career in education, providing valuable experience in a dynamic school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Support: Assist Humanities teachers in delivering engaging and informative lessons. Your role will involve working with students to ensure they understand key concepts across the Humanities subjects.

  • Targeted Support: Provide additional help to students who may need extra assistance, whether through one-on-one sessions or small group work. Your support will help students improve their understanding and academic performance.

  • Resource Development: Aid in the creation and preparation of teaching materials, such as worksheets, presentations, and interactive activities that make lessons more engaging and accessible to all students.

  • Student Engagement: Encourage a love for the Humanities by helping to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment. Support students in developing their critical thinking and analytical skills.

  • Assessment Assistance: Help with marking and assessing student work, providing feedback that aids their academic growth. Collaborate with teachers to monitor student progress and identify those who may benefit from additional support.

  • Exam Preparation: Assist students in preparing for their Humanities exams, offering revision sessions, study tips, and guidance on how to approach different types of exam questions.

Ideal Candidate:

  • A recent graduate with a degree in a Humanities-related subject (e.g., History, Geography, Religious Studies).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas in an understandable way.
  • Passionate about the Humanities and committed to helping students achieve their best.
  • Patient, adaptable, and empathetic, with a desire to work with young people.
  • Previous experience in education or working with students is advantageous but not essential.
