Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role in Chorlton-cum-Hardy

Position Details:

  • Pay: £419.25 - £500 per week, depending on experience and qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

As a Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play an active role in supporting the teaching of subjects such as History, Geography, and Religious Studies. Working closely with the Humanities department, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting teachers in lesson planning, preparation of resources, and classroom activities
  • Providing one-on-one or small group support to students who need extra help in understanding key concepts
  • Supporting students with varying academic abilities to ensure they are making progress and meeting learning targets
  • Helping to manage classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment
  • Assisting with marking and assessment under the supervision of teachers
  • Contributing to extra-curricular activities, including school trips, Humanities clubs, or study sessions
  • Offering guidance and support to students, inspiring them to engage with Humanities subjects and improve their academic performance

What We're Looking For:

  • A recent graduate with a degree in a Humanities subject (e.g., History, Geography, Religious Studies, Politics, Sociology)
  • A genuine interest in pursuing a career in education
  • Strong subject knowledge and excellent communication skills
  • The ability to engage and motivate secondary school students
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive approach to supporting young learners
  • Previous experience working with young people, particularly in an educational setting, is desirable but not essential
