Job Description

**Role Overview**

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the teaching of Humanities subjects in a well-regarded secondary school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers in lesson planning, preparation of resources, and classroom activities
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who need extra help in understanding key concepts
  • Support students with varying academic abilities to ensure they are making progress and meeting learning targets
  • Help to manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Assist with marking and assessment under the supervision of teachers
  • Contribute to extra-curricular activities, including school trips, Humanities clubs, or study sessions
  • Offer guidance and support to students, inspiring them to engage with Humanities subjects and improve their academic performance

Requirements

  • A recent graduate with a degree in a Humanities subject (e.g., History, Geography, Religious Studies, Politics, Sociology)
  • A genuine interest in pursuing a career in education
  • Strong subject knowledge and excellent communication skills
  • The ability to engage and motivate secondary school students
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive approach to supporting young learners
  • Previous experience working with young people, particularly in an educational setting, is desirable but not essential
