We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students in their academic progress and personal development across various humanities subjects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, helping them understand humanities subjects such as History, Geography, and Religious Studies.
  • Assist classroom teachers in delivering lessons, ensuring all students can access the curriculum.
  • Help differentiate lesson plans to cater to a range of student abilities, supporting those who may need extra help.
  • Develop and implement targeted interventions to support students who may be falling behind or struggling with specific concepts.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
  • Support the development of students' literacy and analytical skills, helping them improve in essay writing, research, and critical thinking.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers to help adapt and personalise teaching approaches.
  • Assist with classroom management, helping to maintain a productive and respectful atmosphere during lessons.
  • Offer pastoral support where necessary, building positive relationships with students and supporting their well-being.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure students' academic and emotional needs are being met.
Requirements:
  • A degree in Humanities (e.g. History, Geography, Religious Studies) or a related field is essential.
  • A passion for education and supporting young people's learning.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with students and staff.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to working with different student needs and levels of ability.
  • Experience in a school or similar educational setting is desirable but not essential.
  • An understanding of safeguarding procedures and the importance of student welfare.
