Salary: £35,000

An exciting opportunity to work for the Offender Management unit (OMU) at HMP Thameside, the only OMU in the country delivered by a third sector organisation since it’s opening in 2012. Following a recent Prison inspection, Charlie Taylor (HM Chief Inspector of Prisons) described this service to be "the best provision (he) had seen during the last year".

We are seeking a driven individual who strives for best practice and is passionate in making a difference to people’s lives. In this role you will have the opportunity to be part of a high performing Offender Management Service with its function to identify, assess, address, and reduce risks of sentenced prisoners whilst also motivating them to engage positively within custodial regime.

You will deliver effective end to end offender management within the establishment through oversight of Case Managers when managing caseloads of sentenced and reman prisoners. Within the line management of Case Managers, you will be ensuring that offenders’ needs are reviewed and met within the appropriate timescales, dependent on individual need and key performance targets.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following skills, qualifications and experience:

  • Experience of working with high-risk Service Users.
  • Experience of line management, supervision, and appraisals.
  • A confident professional who is adaptable, responsive to pressure and change.
  • Ability to build and manage relationships with colleagues and partners to deliver a great service to Service Users.
  • Attention to detail particularly relating to performance and meeting of deadlines.
  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to adapt messages to the audience receiving them and retain confidentiality at all times.

Desirable 

  • A qualification relevant criminal justice.
  • Experience working in the custodial environment.


Additional Information

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent (on site)

Hours: 38 per week

Salary: £35,000
