Purpose of the Role

Join the Technical Conformity team as the Functional Manager – Powertrain Certification where you’ll be accountable for type approval/certification of powertrain related characteristics. Reporting into the Head of Powertrain Certification your main responsibilities include;

  • Accountable for planning, monitoring and expediting market/regional powertrain homologation requirements at Project/Programme level for successful achievement of above
  • Accountable for the delivery of market related powertrain homologation activities required to achieve Project/Programme vehicle launch into World Markets to quality, cost and time requirements
  • Formally approves/certifies powertrain related attributes to requirements with Regulatory Authorities

About the Team
Engineering Technical Conformity ensure compliance of all Bentley vehicles with applicable legislation to enable their sale. In addition, they safeguard the end customer and the Bentley brand by ensuring errors in the design and development process are prevented from becoming consequential.

About you – Skills and Experience

For this role you will have experience gained in a vehicle certification/homologation leadership position, ideally in Powertrain development for European and related markets. You will have a degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience, and have the ability to communicate and influence effectively across all levels of the business, our Group partners and external suppliers. German language skills would be advantageous.

You will demonstrate:

  • Previous experience as a direct people manager in the field of vehicle and/or powertrain/emissions certification/homologation
  • Experience of working cross functionally with matrix teams to achieve a range of deliverables and milestones
  • End to end project management experience
  • Communication, influencing and presenting skills up to Board level
