Overview and Qualifications
We are in search of a skilled Bid Management Specialist to assist with the Standard Plants Product Line in relation to tendering activities across the EMEA region. This role involves close collaboration with the Bid Management team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare cost assessments and technical bids for screening, budgetary, and firm proposals, including project timelines and site layouts to aid the commercial division.
- Provide extensive technical knowledge regarding Standard Plants products.
- Enhance competitiveness in proposals and offerings to secure profitable contracts.
- Collaborate in formulating successful strategies alongside commercial teams, Engineering Product Owners, and Functional Engineering groups by analyzing the competitive landscape, identifying optimal solutions to meet client requirements, and effectively engaging with clients, suppliers, and contractors.
- Comprehend the commercial ramifications of each estimate's details, making critical business decisions to enhance proposal competitiveness.
- Develop, manage, and sustain costing tools and other project development resources utilized for project estimation and proposal creation.
- Assist in risk management initiatives during the project development phase by pinpointing risks and opportunities and suggesting mitigation strategies in documented risk management plans.
- Ensure that Engineering Standards, Procedures, and Work Instructions are understood, consistently adhered to, and improved upon as necessary to facilitate efficient project development and execution.
Qualifications for Success:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, complemented by substantial experience in a similar role.
- Prior experience in bid management, project development, project engineering, or engineered product development.
- Demonstrated strong leadership capabilities, with the ability to be assertive, persistent, and hold individuals accountable for their commitments.
- Excellent interpersonal and administrative skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (required), and familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint (preferred).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage at all organizational levels, lead meetings, and manage discussions with senior management.
- Aptitude for working collaboratively with a global team, interacting with colleagues in various regions.
- Ability to work autonomously, taking responsibility for completing tasks with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with an entrepreneurial mindset.
