Job Title: Finance Manager

Location: Brighton

Reports To: DIRECTOR

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our dynamic team at Ace Scaffolding. The Finance Manager will oversee all financial aspects of our scaffolding operations, ensuring efficient management of our financial resources and supporting the company's growth and profitability. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Planning and Analysis:

- Develop and maintain financial models to support business planning and decision-making.

- Analyse financial data and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial performance analysis.

2. Budgeting and Forecasting:

- Lead the annual budgeting process, including coordinating with various departments to gather necessary information.

- Monitor budget performance and work with department heads to manage variances.

- Update forecasts regularly to reflect changing business conditions.

3. Accounting and Reporting:

- Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.

- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with regulatory requirements.

- Manage the preparation of financial statements and coordinate external audits.

4. Cash Flow Management:

- Monitor cash flow and ensure the company has adequate liquidity to meet its obligations.

- Implement cash management strategies to optimise working capital.

- Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions.

5. Cost Control and Optimization:

- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.

- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.

- Review and approve major expenses and capital investments.

6. Compliance and Risk Management:

- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.

- Develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate financial risks.

- Oversee insurance coverage and manage risk exposures.

7. Team Leadership:

- Supervise and mentor finance staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Currently no finance staff however may be in the future.

- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities.

Qualifications:

- AAT level 4 or similar.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a finance management role, preferably within the construction or scaffolding industry.

- Strong knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations.

- Proficiency in financial software and tools - XERO & Excel

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

- Strong leadership and team management abilities.

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

- High level of integrity and professionalism.
