Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Human Resources Specialist with a focus on onboarding to join our innovative biotech company based in Oxford. This role will be critical in ensuring a seamless and engaging onboarding experience for new hires, fostering a strong foundation for their success in our organization.
With a hybrid working model, this position combines remote flexibility with in-office collaboration to support our dynamic workforce and contribute to a positive employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
Onboarding Management
- Coordinate and execute the end-to-end onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.
- Prepare and distribute onboarding materials, including employment contracts, welcome packs, and training schedules.
- Act as the primary point of contact for new employees during their onboarding period, addressing queries and concerns.
- Facilitate new hire orientations and introductions to company culture, policies, and values.
Collaboration and Communication
- Partner with hiring managers to create tailored onboarding plans that meet the specific needs of each role and team.
- Work closely with IT, facilities, and other departments to ensure all necessary tools, equipment, and access are provided prior to start dates.
- Schedule and coordinate initial training sessions and team meet-and-greets for new hires.
Compliance and Documentation
- Ensure all necessary documentation is collected and verified, including right-to-work checks, references, and tax information.
- Maintain up-to-date employee records in compliance with GDPR and other applicable regulations.
- Track onboarding progress and provide regular updates to HR leadership.
Continuous Improvement
- Gather feedback from new hires and managers to identify areas for improvement in the onboarding process.
- Develop and implement enhancements to onboarding programs to improve employee engagement and retention.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and trends to ensure a world-class onboarding experience.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. CIPD certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 4+ years in an HR role with a focus on onboarding or employee engagement, ideally in the biotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industries.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with new employees and cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and standard office software.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving and process optimization.
