Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum TBC basis on experience/agreed work schedule

Job Type: Temporary contract, Either Full-time or Part-time (3 days a week minimum)

Working Schedule: Monday - Friday, from 8 - 5.00 (30mins unpaid break)

Work Location: In person

We are a producer and distributor of speciality foods, working with artisan food producers across the globe. Every day, we supply a nationwide network of customers from the smallest farm shops to restaurants and food manufacturers. Cheese was our first great passion, but we get just as hot under the collar at the prospect of a slice of local air-dried ham or the fragrant aroma of truffle honey.

About the Role:

An exciting opportunity for a Health and Safety Officer. In this role, you will be assisting with safety culture, working collaboratively with others to drive continuous improvement and maintain a safe working environment for all sites (Evesham, Worcester and London).

This role can be based at our Evesham or London site with a job share option to fulfil the working hours, you will require occasional travelling between the other sites.

Initially, this will be a 6-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of further extension and the potential of a permanent position based on the business/role's needs.

This is an office-based role. Candidates must be based locally and able to commute to the designated site or plan to relocate before starting work.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and manage Health and safety arrangements for our sites.
Monitor and implement the organisation's health and safety and workplace standard operation procedures.
Ensure the organisation is compliant with health and safety legislation and reduce and prevent hazards, dangers, and accidents.
Conduct site inspections/audits, assessments, and reporting/documents to guarantee adherence to legislation, internal policies, and procedures.
Full responsibility for departmental hazard and risk analysis.
Ensuring the health and safety of the workers but also of the workplace, environment, and general public.
Coordinate staff training and toolbox talks.
Monitor and report on-site Accidents and incidents and report through internal procedures.
Act as a point of contact for external bodies with all health and safety matters.
Support and advice on Health and Safety Management and compliance.
Promote a proactive Health and safety approach/attitude among employees and site staff.
Conduct or participate in risk assessments and prestart safety reviews.
Participate in the development, maintenance, and continual improvement of health and safety procedures, plans and documents.
There may be a business need for you to carry out other duties within the organisation that are within your skill set.Experience/Skill required:

Has an appropriate Health and Safety qualification or has proven experience working in a similar role
NEBOSH or IOSH qualified (Advantageous/Desirable)
CSCS holder (Advantageous/Desirable)
Experience working in an FMCG environment (Advantageous/Desirable )
Experience in dealing with B.R.C. Accreditation or similar (Advantageous/Desirable)
