We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Young People Support Worker to join our team in Islington, London. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering our innovative pan-London accommodation service for young people (aged 18-24) who have slept rough or are at risk of doing so.
Your primary responsibility will be to work with a caseload of clients, providing one-to-one and group support opportunities aimed at increasing resilience and promoting positive change in their lives. You will also contribute to ongoing needs and risk assessments, leading on risk and needs assessments and support planning for your key clients.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of clients in the service, including using safeguarding and emergency alert procedures as applicable.
- Carrying a caseload of clients for whom you will be the named key worker, and taking joint responsibility with your team members for the well-being and day-to-day support of all clients in the service.
- Leading on risk and needs assessments and support planning for your key clients, and contributing to ongoing needs and risk assessments of other clients in the service.
- Delivering one-to-one and group support opportunities within the accommodation and in the local community, aimed at increasing resilience in the clients we work with.
About You
We are looking for an individual with experience in managing a service in a support setting, with a focus on continuous improvement in working with young people with complex mental health needs. You will need to have the following skills and experience:
- Experience working with the client group.
- An understanding of the needs of people who have experienced homelessness, poor mental health, and substance use.
- A knowledge and understanding of Risk Assessments and Support Planning.
- Able to demonstrate a clear understanding of safeguarding requirements and procedures.
