About the Role

As a Youth Accommodation Specialist at DePaul, you will be part of a team delivering innovative services to support young people (aged 18-24) who have slept rough or are at risk of doing so. Our focus is on reducing homelessness across London and quickly moving young people into appropriate longer-term accommodation.

You will work under the direction of a manager, responsible for a caseload of clients and contributing to the safety and wellbeing of all clients, volunteers, and staff in the service. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of clients in your care, using safeguarding and emergency alert procedures as necessary;
  • Carrying a caseload of clients as their named key worker and contributing to ongoing needs assessments and risk assessments for other clients in the service;
  • Leading on risk and needs assessments and support planning for your key clients;
  • Delivering one-to-one and group support opportunities within accommodation and the local community to increase resilience in our clients.

About You

We are seeking an experienced professional with a background in managing services in support settings, focusing on continuous improvement and working with young people with complex mental health needs. You should have:

  • Experience working with young people, particularly those who have experienced homelessness and poor mental health;
  • An understanding of the needs of individuals who have experienced homelessness, poor mental health, and substance use;
  • A knowledge and understanding of risk assessments and support planning;
  • Able to demonstrate a clear understanding of safeguarding requirements and procedures.
