Senior Young People Support Specialist

Job Overview:

The DePaul Islington (HASS) service provides 17 bed spaces spread over three schemes. Our client group is 'low to medium support with potential emerging needs and risk. As a Senior Young People Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective management of the service on a day-to-day basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients in the service at all times, including safeguarding and emergency alert procedures.
  • Manage a caseload of clients, ensuring a whole team approach to support.
  • Deliver one-to-one and group support opportunities to increase resilience in clients.
  • Proactively lead on partnerships with local agencies to support client wellbeing.

Requirements:

  • Experience of supervising the work of others.
  • An understanding of assets-based working.
  • Experience working with people who have experienced homelessness, poor mental health, substance use, or a history of living in care.
  • Experience using risk assessments and support planning.
  • Experience operating safeguarding requirements and procedures.
