Academics Ltd seeks dedicated and compassionate SEN teaching assistants to work in local primary schools. This rewarding role enables students with special educational needs to access the curriculum and thrive in a mainstream environment.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Support students with diverse SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and learning disabilities, in classrooms and small groups.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop and implement tailored education plans.
  • Provide personal care, mobility assistance, and daily living support as required.
  • Create a positive, inclusive learning environment that promotes student success.
  • Monitor student progress, provide feedback, and communicate with teachers and SEN coordinators.
  • Promote social-emotional development, fostering confidence and positive relationships among students.
  • Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals to achieve optimal student outcomes.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in an SEN setting.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2/3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of SEN best practices and strategies for supporting students with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, empathy, and a caring attitude.
  • Ability to adapt to different school environments and work flexible hours.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
