Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our team in Derbyshire Adult CMHTs. The successful candidate will have a strong background in adult mental health and experience in providing specialist psychological assessments and interventions.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing individual and group clinical work, promoting psychological ideas, and offering advice and consultation to colleagues and other disciplines. They will also contribute to service development and work closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist psychological assessments and interventions for individuals, carers, families, and groups.
  • Formulate and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of service users' psychological difficulties.
  • Implement a range of highly specialised psychological interventions, adjusting and refining psychological formulations as required.
  • Evaluate and make decisions about treatment options, considering both theoretical and therapeutic models.
  • Exercise autonomous professional responsibility within the context of multidisciplinary team working.
  • Consult, advise, and/or supervise colleagues from other disciplines on the psychological formulation and management of patients with mental health problems.
  • Contribute directly and indirectly to a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all users of the service.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have a good honours degree in Psychology, a post-graduate doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology, and registration as a Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC. They will also have experience of working with clients across a variety of settings and a commitment to developing specialist areas of expertise relevant to the post.
