About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our Perinatal Psychology Team, specializing in maternal mental health and perinatal loss. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing community and inpatient-based specialist clinical psychology services for women and birthing people experiencing mental health difficulties during pregnancy, the first two years postnatal, or following loss.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing psychological assessment, formulation, and treatment based on complex data from various sources.
- Working systemically with partners and the wider family, and signposting where appropriate.
- Supporting the development of psychologically informed trauma-focused care within the team and maternity services.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to formalize referral pathways, outcome measures, and treatment protocols.

Person Specification
- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
- Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and eligible for registration with the British Psychological Society (BPS).
- Ability to meet the travel requirements of the job.
- Assessment and therapeutic skills relevant to complex and severe mental health presentations.
- Specialist knowledge of current legislation and guidance for clinical practice and professional management in relation to perinatal/maternal mental health.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Assessment and therapeutic skills related to perinatal/maternal mental health.
- Experience of working with attachment trauma, birth trauma, and loss.
- Trained in EMDR, CFT, trauma-focused CBT.
- Experience of working in perinatal services.
- Experience of working within inpatient settings.
