Maternal Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our perinatal psychology team, providing individual and systemic support to women and their families in Derbyshire.
The role involves working with mental health difficulties around the transition to motherhood, including attachment issues, trauma, loss, tokophobia, puerperal psychosis, mood, and anxiety presentations. You will have opportunities to develop an area of specialist interest and one's own style of working.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing community and inpatient-based specialist clinical psychology services for women who are pregnant, postnatal, or have experienced a loss, presenting with complex and severe mental health problems. This will involve formalizing referral pathways, assessing and signposting to other services, and liaising with midwives, obstetricians, and primary, secondary, and third sector care providers.
You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team (MDT) to deliver a psychologically informed trauma-focused care model within the team and maternity services. The service consists of a 6-bed inpatient unit, a community team with bases in Derby and Chesterfield, and a new maternal mental health service working with loss (MMHS). The Trust psychology department facilitates specialized supervision and training, supports continuing professional development, and has good links with university training courses.
This Band 7/8a role offers a competitive salary range of £43,041 - £86,685 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits. As a Clinical Psychologist at Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, you will contribute to the development of psychological and trauma-informed services around maternal mental health and perinatal loss.
To be considered for this role, you should be registered with the HCPC, eligible for BPS Chartered Status, meet travel requirements, and have an interest in working with trauma, grief, and perinatal presentations.
