About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Specialist to join our team in Derby and Derbyshire. This is an exciting opportunity to work with children and young people, improving their mental health and wellbeing.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality support to children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. You will provide structured, evidence-based interventions and offer supervision to colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions to children and young people across Derby and Derbyshire.
  • Provide supervision to Emotional Wellbeing Practitioners and consultation support to professionals and education staff.
  • Maintain accurate records of assessments and progress.
  • Collaborate with other agencies and stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery.
Requirements
  • Core professional qualification relevant to mental health (e.g. IAPT, PMHW, nursing with specialism in mental health or learning disability nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work).
  • Evidence of continued professional development and a commitment to ongoing learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently.
