Data Quality Specialist

About the Role
The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Data Quality Officer to join their team. As a Data Quality Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of data recorded in the hospital information systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement checks on key hospital data to identify issues and ensure satisfactory resolution.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the Trust's systems and data entry processes.
- Collaborate with the Data Quality team to identify themes and root causes of issues, leading to system changes, training programs, and other remedial actions.
- Perform routine Data Quality checks on data entered onto the Epic system.
- Liaise with the Information team to resolve queries and escalate issues to the Data Quality Manager as necessary.
Requirements
- High level of computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office IT software.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to write clearly and concisely.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and investigate inconsistencies in data.
- Ability to communicate professionally with a range of people in person, on the telephone, and in writing.
- Ability to understand the needs of users and build good relationships with them.
- Good understanding of National data definitions and standards.
