Job Description

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires strong organizational and communication skills. As a Bed Management Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our children's hospital services. This includes coordinating admissions and transfers, managing bed availability, and providing support to our multidisciplinary teams.

You will work closely with our recruitment team to identify suitable candidates for vacant positions and assist with the interview process. You will also provide administrative support to our operational teams, ensuring that all aspects of the hospital's operations run smoothly.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating all admissions and transfers for the children's hospital between UHS and referring DGHs.
  • Maintaining an effective system for identifying the availability of beds to ensure fluctuations in demand, clinical priorities, and emergency admissions are dealt with effectively and efficiently.
  • Attending daily site coordinator bed meetings and other care group meetings as required.

We offer a competitive salary of £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus excellent benefits and opportunities for career development.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
  • Prior NHS knowledge.
  • Confident approach in communication with multidisciplinary teams.
  • The ability to work independently and problem solve.

A degree-level qualification or equivalent experience is desirable, but not essential. We are happy to consider candidates who may not meet all of the qualifications but have relevant experience and a passion for delivering high-quality care.
