Nursing Leadership Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and experienced nurse to join our team as a Postoperative Care Coordinator at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to lead our postoperative recovery services and ensure the safe and effective delivery of care to patients.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong background in clinical practice, with experience at band 6 level and a degree-level education or equivalent experience. You will also need to have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to network and build relationships within and across professions.

You will be responsible for providing professional nursing leadership at ward/unit level, facilitating evidence-based care, and acting as a clinical expert at ward/unit level. You will also need to evaluate the relevance of changes in clinical practice and support and facilitate implementation in the clinical area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the postoperative recovery services and ensure the safe and effective delivery of care to patients.
  • Provide professional nursing leadership at ward/unit level and work with the Matron to enhance nursing practice and strategy.
  • Facilitate evidence-based care and act as a clinical expert at ward/unit level.
  • Evaluate the relevance of changes in clinical practice and then support and facilitate implementation in the clinical area.
  • Advocate for patient groups, escalating safety concerns effectively and work with the multidisciplinary teams to mitigate any risk of harm.
Salary Information

The salary for this role is £43,141 - £67,259 per annum, depending on experience.
