Radiation Protection Technician

We are seeking an experienced electrical professional to join our team in the Nuclear Industry. If you have a background in electrics and understanding of circuit diagrams, we encourage you to apply.

Morson Talent is working alongside their client to recruit a Permanent Radiation Protection Technician to support a new framework/project at Cumbria.

This opportunity offers a competitive salary of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, great benefits, pension, and career progression opportunities.

The successful candidate will repair, maintain, and calibrate Radiation Protection instruments and associated equipment, adhering to all safety, quality, and environmental standards within the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Work safely in accordance with all safety, quality, security, environmental, and site instructions and requirements.
  2. Repair, maintain, calibrate, and test Radiation Protection Instruments to ensure customer work demands are met.
  3. Work to maintenance instructions and record information accurately.
  4. Conform to local procedures, rules, and working practices to ensure compliance with specified regulatory and customer requirements.
  5. Provide technical advice, updates on work progress, and other relevant information to customers as required.
  6. Act as a mentor for other team members, including apprentices and new entrants to the department, to ensure standards and best practices are maintained.
  7. Identify improvements and innovations in service provision to enhance the efficiency and quality of service provision, ensuring timely implementation of agreed improvements.
Experience/Qualifications/Skills:
  1. An apprenticeship or equivalent training in Electronic, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Technology fields.
  2. 5 GCSEs or equivalent (at Grade C or above) including English, a Science subject, and Maths at a minimum of Grade B.
  3. Knowledge and understanding of conventional and nuclear safety.
  4. Proven experience of servicing electronic instrument systems.
  5. A minimum level of qualifications verified (N.B. only qualifications essential to the requirements of the role need to be checked).
  6. Ability to gain BPSS clearance.
