Newly Qualified Childcare Lawyer

We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified Childcare Lawyer to join our team at the London Borough of Lewisham. As a Newly Qualified Childcare Lawyer, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of cases, including child protection and adult protection matters.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Hold a caseload of predominantly pre-proceedings (PLO's)
  • Undertake a wide variety of more straightforward child protection or adult protection cases, including giving advice and assistance
  • Carry out legal research for own cases and by way of support to other lawyers within the team
  • Attend all meetings with clients and external parties, professionals' meetings and panels as required, and advise on all aspects of social services work
  • Advising Social Services clients in person and in writing, on the relevant legislation
  • To demonstrate knowledge of relevant legislation, and specifically the jurisdiction of the Family Court and/or the Court of Protection
