About the Childcare Lawyer Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Childcare Lawyer to join our dynamic Legal Team at the London Borough of Lewisham. As a qualified lawyer with a strong background in Childcare Law, you will be responsible for handling a demanding caseload of child protection cases, advising Social Services clients, and preparing legal documentation.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deputise for Senior Social Care Lawyers and handle a busy caseload of child protection cases
  • Advise Social Services clients on all aspects of relevant legislation and prepare legal documentation
  • Attend meetings with clients and external parties, professionals' meetings, and panels as required
  • Carry out legal research and assist Senior Social Care Lawyers and Principal Lawyer as needed
