Specialist Neonatal Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Specialist Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Medway NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified ANNP to take on an advanced clinical role in our tertiary level NICU, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to premature and sick babies and their families.
Responsibilities- To participate in the SHO/ST1-3 rota and attend all clinical sessions relating to this role, ensuring seamless care delivery and effective handovers.
- To provide guidance and counselling to parents/carers/guardians regarding clinical management, supporting them in decision-making and developing mutually agreed plans of care.
- To demonstrate exceptional communication skills, conveying complex information to families and carers effectively and sensitively.
- To offer supervision, advice, support, and training to junior doctors and less experienced ANNPs in the unit, promoting continuous learning and development.
- To contribute to the promotion of a high standard of advanced specialist nursing and medical care, initiating and coordinating the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of holistic needs through evidence-based practice.
- RN or RSCN with a degree, holding ANNP qualification to a master's degree from an accredited UK University provider.
- ENB 405 (or equivalent) and ENB 998 (or equivalent) qualifications, demonstrating expertise in neonatal care and leadership.
- Newly qualified ANNP or previous experience in a neonatal unit undertaking level 2 or 3 neonatal care, with exposure to varied MDT settings and highly developed clinical skills.
- Evidence of evidenced-based practice, active involvement in research or audit, and excellent interpersonal and written/spoken communication skills.
