About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Patient Safety Investigation Lead to join our forward-thinking Patient Safety Team at the North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the implementation of the National Patient Safety Incident Response Framework, ensuring compliance and effective incident management.
  • Lead the coordination of patient safety investigations, complaints, and concerns, identifying learning opportunities and sharing best practices across the organization.
  • Develop and maintain Learning From Patient Safety Events (LFPSE) records, analyzing trends and incidents to inform quality improvement initiatives.
  • Represent the Patient Safety Team, providing expert guidance and support to staff, and leading effective responses to patient safety incidents.
  • Collaborate with the Quality and Safety Directorate to drive quality and safety improvements, ensuring alignment with Trust and national policies.
Requirements
  • Significant experience in human factors and patient safety, with a strong understanding of clinical governance and patient safety initiatives.
  • Education to degree level in a relevant subject, with evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and report writing skills, with the ability to influence and motivate others.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of patient safety incident management, LFPSE reporting, and CNST/NHSLA requirements.
