About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Receptionist to join our team at Newburn Surgery. As the first point of contact for patients, you will play a vital role in providing a warm and welcoming experience for all visitors to the practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, responding to their queries and concerns in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including patient registration forms and medication requests.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records on SystmOne, ensuring seamless communication between healthcare professionals.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as scanning documents and managing practice post.
  • Provide cover during reception staff absences and annual leave, ensuring continuity of service.
  • Contribute to a clean and organized working environment, adhering to health and safety standards.

Person Specification

  • Essential
    • Experience of working in a receptionist/administrator role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
    • GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths.
  • Desirable
    • Experience of working in primary care.
    • Knowledge of using SystmOne software.
    • Proficient with Word and Excel.
