Transformation Unit is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Haematology Nurse Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Clinical Haematology team, you will be responsible for assessing patients, planning, delivering, and monitoring the care and management of patients with Red Cell disorders, particularly Haemoglobinopathy patients. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the development of our Haemoglobinopathy Service.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assessment and Planning: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' nursing needs, develop individualised care plans, and implement evidence-based interventions to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Care Delivery: Provide specialist care and support to patients in inpatient, outpatient, and day case settings, ensuring seamless transitions and continuity of care.
  • Service Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines for the Haemoglobinopathy Service, ensuring alignment with Trust and organisational standards.
  • Teaching and Education: Develop and deliver educational programs for patients, families, and healthcare professionals to promote evidence-based practice and patient empowerment.
Requirements:
  • Extensive clinical experience in Clinical Haematology or a related field.
  • Advanced clinical skills and knowledge in Red Cell disorders, particularly Haemoglobinopathy patients.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a strong focus on patient-centred care.
