The Research and Innovation department at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre is seeking a highly skilled Research Chemotherapy Nurse to join their team.

The primary aim of this post is to bring about greater access for research in order to provide a unique and enviable framework to enhance the delivery of world-class research.

The successful candidate will embark on a programme of dual training for both Oncology and Haematology systemic anticancer treatments.

As a Research Chemotherapy Nurse, you will be responsible for supporting the research teams in the delivery of SACT therapy's per protocol whilst ensuring that our service users' needs are met through the delivery of high-quality care.

The role will include collecting data, supporting, treating, and monitoring patients in accordance with ethically approved protocols.

Main duties of the job

Chemotherapy Research Nurse

The post holder, under the supervision of the clinical delivery unit co-ordinator, will support the delivery of commercial and non-commercial cancer clinical trials.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Collecting data and supporting research teams in the delivery of SACT therapy's per protocol
  • Treating and monitoring patients in accordance with ethically approved protocols
  • Working collaboratively with other agencies to achieve shared goals
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A graduate level qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Evidence of continuous personal and professional development
  • Chemotherapy training in either Oncology or Haematology, or a willingness to undertake a period of training
  • Oncology and/or clinical research experience
Experience

The successful candidate will have experience of working autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Knowledge

The ideal candidate will have a basic knowledge of recent NHS legislation and recommendations in the field of cancer and palliative care.
