Job Summary

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented individual to join our Election Claims Unit as a Financial Decision-Maker. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of election expense claims.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine expense accounts submitted by Returning Officers to ensure adherence to policy and legislation.
  • Liaise with senior stakeholders to request additional information or evidence to support expenditure claimed.
  • Work directly with Returning Officers and Electoral Service Managers to resolve account discrepancies and agree final reimbursement amounts.
  • Analyse claims that are overspent against the funding allocation and provide detailed analysis submissions, including recommendations for funding amounts.
  • Take a proactive role in updating working documentation and revising Returning Officers' guidance on elections funding and accounting requirements.
  • Support the Elections Funding team in rolling out new technologies to aid Returning Officers with expense submissions.
  • Become a subject matter expert on analysing financial data submitted by Returning Officers.
