Teaching Personnel is seeking a Behavioural Support Specialist to work in secondary schools across Newport and Cwmbran.

About the Role

The successful candidate will provide one-on-one and small group support to students, fostering positive behaviour and emotional well-being. They will assist in implementing behaviour management strategies and individual support plans, as well as supporting teaching staff in creating a calm, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide proactive support to students with behavioural or additional learning needs
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to implement behaviour management strategies
  • Support the development of positive relationships between students and teachers
About You

We're looking for someone who is passionate about working with young people and helping them succeed. Ideally, you will have experience working with young people with behavioural or additional learning needs.

You will be a calm, patient, and approachable individual with strong interpersonal skills. Resilience and the ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and empathy are essential.

A team player who can work collaboratively with staff and external agencies, you will be able to contribute to the creation of a supportive and inclusive school environment.

Requirements
  • GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

As a Behavioural Support Specialist, you will be rewarded with a competitive salary of £83.85-£100 per day. Teaching Personnel will also assist you with a DBS application and EWC registration, required to work within a school.

The ideal start dates for this role are December 2024 and January 2025, with full-time and part-time hours available. Please note that all applicants must meet the necessary qualifications and requirements for this position.
