About the Role

This is a senior management position within the Community & Partnerships team with a competitive salary range of £48,600-£58,893 per annum, depending on experience.

We are seeking an exceptional individual to lead our ambitious programme of support and partnership with the voluntary sector in Wandsworth. As Director of Strategy and Partnerships, you will be responsible for delivering impactful work programmes that help achieve our vision. You will confidently work with diverse stakeholders, including senior managers, Council Members, and voluntary organisations, providing strategic leadership to strengthen, support, and value the voluntary sector and community-based organisations across Wandsworth.

The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and a sound understanding of the operating environment for the voluntary sector and local government. You will take a proactive role in leading and guiding internal and external stakeholders to achieve the outcomes of our Voluntary and Community Sector Strategy.

  • Implementing the Voluntary Sector and Civil Society Strategy across the Council and wider voluntary sector partners.
  • Mobilising and contract managing a new voluntary sector infrastructure support and volunteering service.
  • Developing a high-profile engagement plan with regular network meetings and communications.

You will be expected to maintain a high level of visibility amongst community partners, working predominately from our offices as well as out in the community. The role requires flexibility and the ability to re-prioritise tasks regularly. Additionally, you will need to translate complex issues into short, community-focused messages for both written and presenting purposes.
