Volunteer Opportunities at Buckinghamshire Mind

We are currently seeking volunteers to join our befriending team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of others while developing your own skills and experiences.

About the Role:

As a befriending volunteer, you will be matched with an individual who requires support and companionship. You will work together to identify goals and objectives, and develop a plan to achieve them.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish a trusting relationship with your assigned individual
  • Develop a support plan tailored to their needs
  • Provide regular support and companionship
  • Monitor progress and adjust the support plan as needed
  • Attend training and development sessions to enhance your skills

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a good listener, able to build strong relationships, and possess excellent communication skills. You will also require a DBS check and basic training in befriending practices.

Estimated Salary: £9-12 per hour (dependent on experience)
