Job Description

The Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Refugee Forum (NNRF) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to serve as the Chair of Trustees. This is a leadership role that requires strong governance experience, strategic thinking, and a passion for the needs of refugees and asylum seekers.

The Chair will work closely with the Director and the Board of Trustees to ensure the charity runs according to its constitution and statutory obligations. Key responsibilities include providing inclusive leadership, supporting the Director, and acting as an ambassador for the charity.

Essential qualities, knowledge, and skills include a strong passion for NNRF's cause, governance experience, and effective chairing of strategic meetings. The ideal candidate will also have experience managing senior staff, financial management knowledge, and a commitment to inclusivity and equality, diversity, and inclusion principles.

Terms of the role include a three-year term, with the possibility of re-appointment for one additional term. Board meetings will be held bi-monthly in person in Nottingham, and the role is not accompanied by any financial remuneration. The estimated time commitment is around 2 to 2.5 days each month.
