Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Resourcing Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, planning, and purchasing requirements for the Project department.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in a similar role, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project. SAGE 50 experience is also desirable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with Project Managers to collate and address procurement needs.
  • Collaborate with Operations to ensure internal schedules are maintained.
  • Centralise Purchasing from across various Projects and optimise cost, lead-time, schedules, supplier loading, etc.
  • Facilitate communication across engineering functions to ensure project deliverables are met.
  • Develop and select suppliers in accordance with company procedures.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to ensure best value of equipment purchased.
  • Build supplier relationships and long-term agreements.
  • Control the supply chain, including financial, technical, schedule, commercial & contract requirements.
  • Mitigate project risk and support cost control, cash flow, and forecasting activities.
  • Schedule and expedite, in the absence of an ERP / MRP system.
  • Track, manage, and negotiate change and amendment related to individual POs.
  • Monitor supplier performance evaluation and raise concerns with relevant teams.
  • Procure consumables as required.

  • Excellent negotiation, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise a competing workload.
  • Good organisational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative to propose and implement changes to work practices.
  • A team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Motivated with a good work ethic.
