About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Parkland Management Coordinator to join our team in the Lake District National Park Authority. As a key member of our countryside operations team, you will be responsible for leading and managing Field Rangers and volunteers to deliver practical work programmes.

You will oversee practical activities to ensure owned rural properties are well maintained, negotiate and write up practical work plans with landowners and partners, and supervise contractors undertaking practical delivery.

A great team player with good communication skills, both written and verbal, is essential for this role. You will also have the ability to identify, plan, organise, budget and deliver practical countryside management projects.

This is a key role that involves working closely with other staff, managing Field Rangers and making best use of volunteers. You must be able to work well with partner organisations, other teams, landowners, communities and the public, and effectively communicate to manage expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage Field Rangers and volunteers to deliver practical work programmes

  • Negotiate and write up practical work plans with landowners and partners
  • Supervise contractors undertaking practical delivery
Requirements
  • Several years of relevant experience in countryside management or a related field
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
