Job Title: Autism Support Assistant - Community Role
Location: NE22 Area
Salary: £25,500 (FTE), £13.09/hr (P/T)
About the OpportunityWe are looking for a skilled support assistant to work with a 17-year-old girl who requires assistance with daily living tasks and accessing community resources.
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to build strong relationships, and demonstrate a patient and empathetic approach when interacting with individuals with autism.
Key Responsibilities- To facilitate social interactions and engage the young lady in leisure activities within the community
- To establish a reliable routine that promotes independence and reduces anxiety levels
- To ensure a safe and comfortable living environment
- A proven track record of supporting individuals with autism and complex needs
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think on feet
- Good time management and organisational skills
- A willingness to undergo training and professional development
- Highly motivated and proactive individual
Essential Requirements: Valid driving licence and car insurance for business use. Enhanced DBS check required, employer covers costs.
