Job Title: Support Worker for Young Adult with Autism

Location: Morpeth

Salary: £25,500 (FTE), £13.09/hr (P/T)

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated support worker to assist a 17-year-old girl with Autism, Hypermobility, and Sensory Needs in accessing community and leisure activities.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting individuals with autism and sensory needs, be enthusiastic, encouraging, and flexible, with a positive attitude towards children/young adults with disabilities.

Main Duties
  • To provide support for the young lady to access age-appropriate community and leisure activities
  • To assist her in developing a routine of going out into the community regularly to gain confidence and spend time away from the family unit
  • To maintain a safe and comfortable environment for the young lady
Person Specification
  • A positive understanding towards children/young adults with disabilities
  • A genuine interest in working with children/young adults with complex needs
  • A high degree of initiative
  • Punctuality and reliability as this young adult cannot be left unsupervised
  • Flexibility
  • A happy, positive caring nature
  • Respect for confidentiality

Requirements: Car driver desirable and must be insured for business use. An Enhanced DBS check is required, cost to be met by the employer.
