**About the Role**

Lorien is seeking an experienced Market Abuse Surveillance Expert to join our Market Abuse Trade Surveillance team. This is a key role within our organization, requiring the successful candidate to support technical client projects and contribute to internal business development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting clients with delivery of engagements and advising on industry practices related to trade surveillance and market abuse controls.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest trends, cases, and new developments in market abuse.
  • Developing as an SME and managing junior team members.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of trading businesses and manifestation of market abuse risks within sell-side investment banks.
  • Good understanding of financial products, including cash and derivatives, and ways in which market abuse risks can manifest.
  • Experience working within Compliance Surveillance or Technology teams with experience of third-party vendors' trade surveillance systems implementation or in-house trade surveillance build.
  • Involvement and/or awareness of model validation of trade surveillance models and data quality for Surveillance.
  • A working understanding of the trade surveillance vendor landscape, demonstrating awareness of different solutions.
  • Familiarity with effective Surveillance Operating Model and Governance Framework.
  • Flexibility and agility to contribute in a support role to a broad range of market abuse and surveillance engagements.
  • Self-starter, experienced Assistant Manager showing ability to build excellent client relationships.
  • Good understanding of key Surveillance policy and procedure documentation.
  • Excellent oral/written communication, planning, project management, networking, and influencing skills.

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
