Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience
Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Generalist HR Professional to support our department in ensuring smooth and efficient business operations. As a key member of our small HR team, you will play a pivotal role in providing expert advice and support to both employees and management on a wide range of human resource matters. You will work closely with the HR Supervisor executing our organisation's Human Resource plans and reporting to the UK Group Head of Human Resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- To implement and maintain HR policies and procedures, including employee handbook.
- To support recruitment, selection, and induction processes, including interview panels, reference checks, and employment contracts.
- To provide advice and guidance on employee relations, including grievances, disciplinary procedures, absence cases, and performance management.
- To facilitate engagement programs to support employee retention, including town halls, events, and employee engagement surveys.
- To support company-wide training plans, including conducting training needs analysis and delivering training on core HR processes.
- To maintain accurate records and data, including absence records, return to work, variations to contract, exit interviews, and data entry in our bespoke human resources information system – in line with Data Protection Act (GDPR).
- To report and monitor key HR metrics and analytics to assess and improve business performance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Human Resources or a related field.
- Previous HR experience, ideally within manufacturing or engineering in similar role.
- Exposure to full employee lifecycle, advising on Employment Relations.
- Sound knowledge of HR policies and procedures and UK employment legislation.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- A high level of professionalism and discretion.
- Ability to deal with complex and sensitive cases, maintaining confidentiality.
- Experience with HR systems and project management, including MS Excel, PPT, Word.
