Long Term SEN Teaching Assistant

Axcis Education is a leading provider of temporary and permanent teaching staff to special schools across the UK.
As a long term SEN teaching assistant, you will be working in a special school in Plymouth supporting students with severe learning difficulties.
The role is 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time only. You will be required to support the educational, social, and physical needs of pupils, including those with severe physical, learning, and complex behavioural difficulties.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Establishing supportive relationships with pupils to encourage individual development, acceptance, social integration, and self-esteem.
- Supporting the safe physical and medical needs of pupils.
- Supporting pupils with challenging emotional and behavioural difficulties.
- Assisting children in developing knowledge, skills, and attitudes as defined by the curriculum.
- Reacting effectively to challenging or unpredictable behaviours.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students with special needs.
We estimate the salary for this role to be around £25,000-£30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
