The role of Attendance Lead is a crucial part in ensuring students attend regularly and have the best chance of academic success at Alder Community High School.

This position involves early intervention to address absenteeism, ensuring legal compliance, and engaging with parents, carers and relevant agencies in order to create a supportive environment and maximise attendance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student attendance
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to identify and address underlying issues affecting attendance
  • Collaborate with external agencies to ensure effective support for families and young people

We are seeking a highly organised and enthusiastic individual to lead our attendance strategy. The ideal candidate will have experience in leading a team, working with young people, and improving attendance in an educational setting. They should possess excellent communication skills, the ability to relate effectively to young people, and a commitment to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.

Salary: £33,366 - £37,938 per annum (all year round), or £28,805 - £32,752 per annum (term time only)

Location: Alder Community High School, Tameside

Working Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8:00am - 4:00pm, Friday 8:00am - 3:45pm
