We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at Teaching Personnel. The successful candidate will have experience in working with children and/or adults who display challenging behaviour and a passion for supporting students' mental health.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mental health issues affecting students, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma. They will be able to provide one-on-one or small group support sessions, focusing on coping strategies, emotional regulation, and self-care techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement education plans for students with mental health concerns.
  • Monitor students' progress and communicate effectively with teachers.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all relevant privacy and safeguarding laws and regulations.
  • Support teachers in managing the behaviour and specialist needs of students.

Qualifications:

  • Team Teach trained or willing to undertake a 2-day training course.
  • Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or mental health setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle crisis situations effectively.

This is a temporary position, with the option to become permanent in the future. Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers and offer free child protection and prevent duty training.
