Specialist Palliative Occupational Therapy Opportunity

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our specialist palliative care team at Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust.

About the Role

In this role, you will be working with patients who require occupational therapy to maintain their independence and quality of life. You will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing expert advice on adapting homes and environments to meet patient needs.

As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care that meets the needs of our patients. This includes:

  • Collaborating with medical consultants and other healthcare professionals to develop holistic care plans
  • Working with patients and their families to understand their goals and priorities
  • Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to address patient needs and goals
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration
  • Experience in palliative care or a related field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • An ability to work independently and as part of a team

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of palliative care principles and practices, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £43,141 - £70,305 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including pension scheme, annual leave entitlement, and professional development opportunities.
