Occupational Therapist in Specialist Palliative Care

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our specialist palliative care team at Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with patients who require occupational therapy to maintain their independence and quality of life. As an Occupational Therapist in this role, you will be responsible for assessing patients' needs, developing individualized plans, and providing expert advice on adapting homes and environments to meet patient needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting assessments and creating personalized rehabilitation plans for patients with palliative care needs
  • Providing expert advice on adapting homes and environments to meet the needs of patients with mobility or dexterity impairments
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless delivery of care
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration
  • Post-graduate training or experience in palliative care or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • An ability to work independently and as part of a team

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of palliative care principles and practices, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £43,141 - £70,305 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including pension scheme, annual leave entitlement, and professional development opportunities.
