We are seeking an experienced professional to join our Emergency Duty Team in a part-time position. This is an exciting opportunity for a committed, enthusiastic and driven individual to provide emergency responses for vulnerable and at-risk families across the Wakefield district.

Company Overview

The Children's Emergency Duty Team (EDT) is a small team of qualified, specially trained and experienced social workers who provide an emergency response outside of office hours on behalf of Children's Social Care. EDT work 365 days a year and will consider a response for any child or young person (up to the age of 18) who is at risk of significant harm.

Salary

Excellent salary grade range: G7 £12,837 with weekend working enhancement (£20,616). This includes a 6-month temporary position with the potential for becoming permanent.

Job Description

You will play a central role in achieving positive outcomes for children and young people in Wakefield District. You will be working with a small and well-supported team led by engaging and supportive Advanced Social Work Practitioners who are committed to making a difference to families within Wakefield.

  • Providing an emergency response for any child or young person (up to the age of 18) who is at risk of significant harm.
  • Working alongside Social Workers to ensure the best outcome for our children and young people.
