The Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced and motivated Administrative Support Coordinator to join our Acute Medical Unit administration team. This role is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of patients and staff.

About the Role

We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering exceptional administrative support and has excellent communication skills. As an Administrative Support Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing high-quality administrative services to the Acute Medical Unit team, including managing referrals from the Emergency Department and GP services.

You will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing your workload to meet the changing needs of the department. A pleasant telephone manner and excellent interpersonal skills are essential for this role. You will also need to have the ability to use your own initiative and deal with patients and relatives calmly, sensitively and efficiently both on the telephone and in person.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage referrals from the Emergency Department and GP services, admitting patients onto the ward and dealing with their subsequent pathway through the hospital.
  • Provide administrative support to the Acute Medical Unit team, including updating and recording data from patient admissions.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to achieve targets and improve patient outcomes.
