Sales Development Manager

As a Sales Development Manager at Macfarlane Packaging, you will be responsible for driving sales growth in the Southern Midlands and Southeast region. With a strong track record in solution selling, you will identify and develop new customer accounts, as well as further expand existing relationships.
The ideal candidate will have excellent commercial acumen, problem-solving skills, and experience in distributor sales or direct packaging sales to end-users. A valid UK driving license is required, and residing within a commutable distance of our manufacturing site in Chatteris, Cambridgeshire, is essential.
We offer a competitive salary with bonus and benefits, including 22 days annual leave, contributory pension scheme, company car allowance, and BUPA cover. Extensive training and development opportunities are also available.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead Contact: Serve as the primary contact for new sales enquiries in the region.
* Product Expertise: Develop a comprehensive understanding of our product line and its applications.
* Demand Creation: Generate territory growth in line with commercial targets.
* Networking: Act as the product champion within the group, liaising with distribution sites to foster awareness and secure buy-in, leading to customer referrals.
About You
We are looking for a candidate with a strong track record in solution selling, ideally with experience in distributor sales or direct packaging sales to end-users. Previous success selling into medical, electronic, or broader industrial sectors would be preferred. Strong presentation, customer-facing, and influencing skills are essential.
