About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Area Operations Manager to lead our team of professionals in the management of our sewage pumping stations in the Home Counties South region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a multi-disciplined team of up to 15 people, including a Field Performance Manager, Technical Coordinator, and multi-skilled technicians, in the operation and maintenance of sewage pumping stations.
  • Ensure the safety, leadership, and management of resources, as well as the operation and maintenance of sewage pumping stations, to achieve set performance and expenditure targets, quality standards, statutory requirements, and customer service.
  • Work with the Asset Optimisation team to deliver initiatives that improve the operation of sewage pumping stations.
  • Meet and exceed tight financial targets while maintaining quality.
  • Deliver increasing levels of customer service and experience.
  • Drive a culture of safety, performance management, and exceptional customer service.
  • Drive continuous improvement at all levels, improving service, reducing cost, and improving asset performance and reliability.
  • Minimise environmental impact, reducing the risk of pollution incidents, and developing contingency plans to enable effective response to operational issues and plant failures.
  • Drive our Health and Safety Policies and promote zero incidents, zero harm, and zero compromise.
Requirements
  • A full UK driving license is essential.
  • At least HNC/D calibre in a process or technically related field, along with supervisory qualifications/experience.
  • Excellent leadership experience, capability, and vision.
  • Current H&S management competence.
  • Ability to deliver against stretching operational targets.
  • IT literate.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good business/stakeholder awareness, together with an innovative and creative approach to problem-solving and strong teamwork and influencing skills.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary between £40,960 to £51,200 per annum depending on previous experience.
  • Annual Leave: 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 with the length of service. (Plus bank holidays)
